Hineni: A Conversation with Thomas R. Nides

Tom Nides is an American banker and former government official who served as the United States ambassador to Israel from December 2021 to July 2023. He has held executive positions at major financial institutions, including Managing Director and Vice Chairman at Morgan Stanley, Chief Administrative Officer at Credit Suisse, and his current role as a Vice Chairman of Strategy and Client Relations at Blackstone. Nides was appointed Deputy Secretary of State and Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. State Department by President Barack Obama and was awarded the nation’s highest diplomatic honor by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for his service. As U.S. ambassador to Israel, Nides worked with three different prime ministers in two years and managed to forge a close working relationship with all of them, playing a key role in strengthening U.S.-Israel relations.
